This was the first year for our project: experimental studies in the field of dreams. All of the hard work from last year's planning and designing of the field is starting to come together. Students researched how small changes could make an impact in biodiversity.
Some students tried to discourage deer browsing while some did the opposite; some added bird feeders and houses. Others tested water quality and determined which plants would best help the "ponds." Many planted native plants or grew plants from seed to attract bees and butterflies. Students chose the project, and there were so many cool ideas.
For the final presentation, students went out into the field to teach the 6th and 8th graders about their work.
